Below are answers to some common questions regarding ABOAGORA “Void”.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How can I register for the event?
Registration is open until August 15 here.
Please make sure to give your up-to-date contact information, so we can inform you of possible changes.
Please note that attending the following sessions also requires signing up in advance separately after you have registered for the event:
- The sensory excursion Regenerative Void, and What Floats to the Shores, Wednesday 23 Aug. at 15:40 on the Saaronniemi Beach, Ruissalo. See details and sign up here.
- The writing workshop The magic of the blank page / Tyhjän paperin lumo / Den tomma sidans förtrollning, Friday 25 Aug. at 08:15 at the Sibelius Museum. See details and sign up here.
What does it cost?
The basic registration fee is 50 €, and for students, doctoral researchers and professional artists it is 20 €. By paying the registration fee, you will have access to all of the sessions and performances in the programme.
Attending the AGORA (keynote) sessions, the kick-off concert on August 22 and the concert at the Turku Cathedral on August 24 is free of charge, and does not require advance registration.
Where do the sessions take place?
The sessions take place at the Sibelius Museum (Piispankatu 17, Turku), except for the following:
- The sensory excursion Regenerative Void, and What Floats to the Shores on Wednesday 23 August, 15:40–18:30, takes place on Saaronniemi Beach, Ruissalo. The excursion participants will travel together by bus to Ruissalo and back. See details and sign up for the excursion here.
- The concert Void by Vocal Ensemble MMXX on Thursday 24 August, 19:00–20:00, takes place at the Turku Cathedral. The concert is free of charge and open for all, and does not require advance registration.

Are the event locations accessible?

Will there be food and drink served at the event?
For all participants, coffee/tea and small snacks will be served during coffee breaks in the Sibelius Museum atrium (or indoors, if it rains), and wine and cocktail bites will be served at the closing reception on Friday, August 25 in the garden behind the museum (or indoors, if it rains).
Small snacks will be provided for participants at the sensory excursion Regenerative Void, and What Floats to the Shores in Ruissalo on Wednesday, August 23.
Lunch is only provided for performers and speakers.
Will the event be livestreamed?
The event will not be livestreamed.
Will the event be recorded?
The three keynote (AGORA) sessions will be recorded and some of the recordings will be published on our YouTube channel after the event. Other sessions will not be recorded.
The event will be photographed and the photos will be used for ABOAGORA’s marketing and communications both during and after the Symposium. If you have any questions, please contact aboagora[at]utu.fi.
