Falling Walls Lab Turku winners
On June 14 the Universty of Turku and the Åbo Akademi universty hosted the third Falling Walls Lab Turku at the Sibelius Museum.
17 participants pitched their innovative ideas in front of a renowned jury. The presentations dealt with various topics from different fields, indluding medicine, future studies, education and marketing.
The winner of the Turku Lab qualified for the Falling Walls Lab Finale which takes place in Berlin on 8 November 2016.

Åbo Akademi University and Helsinki Innovation Services Ltd (University of Helsinki) organize a panel discussion on the impact and societal relevance of research within the humanities, social sciences and arts (SSHA) at the Sibelius Museum at 3:00-4:00 pm on June 14. The panel discussion is organized in context with the Falling Walls Lab contest. Both Falling Walls Lab and the panel discussion are open for the public for free.
The panel members for this highly topical discussion are:
- Pirjo Kutinlahti, ministerial advisor at the Innovation Department of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy
- Marita Aho, senior adviser at the Competence and Growth Department of the Confederation of Finnish Industries
- Jari Perkiömäki, rector of the University of the Arts
- Kirsti Salmi-Niklander, academy researcher, docent of folkloristics at University of Helsinki
- Thomas Nyman, doctoral student in Psychology at Åbo Akademi University
The session will be moderated by Anne Kallio from SusInno Ltd.
The panel discussion is organized within a Tekes funded KINO (kansainvälisen innovaatio-osaamisen kehittäminen) innovation development project.
